Is it possible to cloak any objects

Remember the movie invisible man?Making object Transparent is always sceities dream. The F-117 Nighthawk stealth fighter was the first stealth aircraft to be used operationally .

While the technologic of cloaking a human has not been achieved. The first cloak could only hide two-dimensional objects viewed from specific directions – and only if they were "viewed" using one particular microwave frequency. Producing a cloak to hide objects from visible light, which has a wavelength several orders of magnitude smaller than microwaves – let alone cloaking objects when viewed from any direction .
"While full cloaking has not been achieved, it shows promises in the right direction," says Ulf Leonhardt at the University of St Andrews, UK.

For now, such technology can cloak only objects with a surface area of a few square micrometres and a few hundred nanometres deep. But "in principle, you can make the [cloaked] object larger and larger", says Thomas Zentgraf, a member of the Berkeley team.

Electric Powered Cars Prices Review

The fuel is expensive but the battery even more expensive.I mean the car that powered by electric. We really need to protect our environment but we still too relay on oil .That's the problem we have faced nowadays.

Battery electric vehicles still not in the main stream and the price are expensive, should we go hybrid car or we just stick with transitional petrol car. Which is better in term of cost?

Problem: Battery electric vehicles (EVs) are expensive.

Mitsubishi Motors and Nissan Motor last week announced prices for their i-MiEV and Leaf battery-only electric cars, in production already or about to debut, at 3.98 million yen ($42,520) and 3.76 million yen respectively before state subsidies, several times the cost of equivalent cars.

Reality bites with driving ranges of about 100 miles, far less than for a petrol car which U.S. customers expect to exceed 300 miles.

And electric cars have to contend with the multibillion-dollar cost of a new charging infrastructure, although they benefit from running costs at about a quarter of gasoline at today's prices, according to electric car advocates.

"The electric vehicle sector certainly has momentum, but it's questionable whether it has the legs for the longer term, at least at the moment, and whether it has enough scale," said Peter Wells at Cardiff University's Center for Automotive Industry Research, who expected big cost reductions.

Toyota Prius

Success depends on drivers accepting limitations on range and on re-charging time, which takes several hours, said Pierre Gaudillat, research and development manager at the UK-funded Carbon Trust.

"I don't see any major breakthrough on the horizon," he said. Customers may have to compromise on what they expect from a car, perhaps tailored for commuting, and from ownership, for example buying the car but renting the expensive battery.

Hybrid gasoline-electric cars overcome the range problem but are still pricey because of their complexity and battery costs. But if the large scale is implemented ,it could be difference story.

HDTV and 3DTV Trends

HDTV (high definition tv) is available in the market now,the next big thing in consumer electronics could be 3D TV  .

Why 3D TV will be the next big thing at the Consumer Electronics?

Inspired by 3D Movie success (Avatar) Most big TV maker from Samsung to LG to Sony to Panasonic said they would have 3D capable TVs on the market in coming year.3D feature be will another big boost on sales of TVs after the HDTV trend. At that time we will able to watch James Cameron's 3D blockbuster movie "Avatar," one more time in 3D at home after watching the stunning 3D effect in theater..

However, experts agree that 3D TV broadcasting is still in its early days. What this means for consumers is that there is still too little sources, titles, distribution is scarce, and technical kinks on the TVs still need to be worked out.

A few years ago, TV manufacturers experienced a sales boom as consumers upgraded to digital HDTVs in anticipation of the government's mandated switch to digital TV broadcasts last year.If you still unsure what us HDTV check out what is HDTV to have a basic knowledge about HDTV.

Eager shoppers have also been upgrading to high-definition TVs as movie studios, cable and satellite operators, and TV broadcasters around the world have begun offering more programming in HD.Note that some HD  broadcasting will need extra monthly subscription depends on which country you live.

For the hardware ,the TVs,prices have been drop dramatically . Now it might be the time for manufacturers create something new in order to keep consumers to buy for new products (ha...evil think). You know ,they always do.

Last year, some manufactures work hard on adding Internet-enabled widgets to their TVs, which allows viewers to also get real-time weather, and access Facebook and Flickr on the Internet directly from their TVs

But Blu-ray players and other devices, such as the Roku box, came on the market at much lower prices offering similar functionality.

3D could be the next feature to spur premium sales. To watch a movie or sporting event broadcast in 3D, viewers need a new 3D-capable TV. Manufacturers showed off some 3D TVs at last year.

Another sign that we are no far from 3D+HD entertainment age is that new Blu-Ray players that can play 3D movies for the new 3D TVs have also hit the market, and movie studios are promising at least 70 titles of Blu-Ray 3D movies by the end of the year. "Avatar" will be one of them.

While more content is on the way, currently the only 3D DVD in the correct format is the children's animated film "Monsters vs. Aliens."Also The 3D game "Avatar"the new video game that uses the same 3D technology as the movie .

Just as it did for high-definition television, sports shot in 3D should be popular with viewers.
"Sports and movies will drive demand for 3D programming," said Derek Harrar, senior vice president of video and entertainment services.

Anyway, the 3D TV technology is still young. More info and report is needed before we can make a conclude . And it could take some time before TV service providers offer enough programming to make it worth the added expense of buying a 3D TV.
